VINTAGE ENGELBERT'S JEWELERS ROME, NY STORE WHITE BOOK-SHAPED JEWELRY BOX

Adorable vintage book-shaped jewelry box from Engelbert's Jewelers of Rome, NY, probably from the mid-20th century. This jewelry store was founded in 1907 and is still in business today (see photo of the history section from their website). I haven't seen a box like this before. It looks like a tiny hardcover book with white leather-like covers and gold trim. When it opens up, the left inside cover has the Engelbert's logo and the right has a velveteen lining with two small compartments; this must have been for earrings or rings, or obviously something else small. The box measures about 2 3/4" tall, 2" wide and 3/4" deep. I would say this box is in very good vintage condition..the white leather is slightly age-soiled and there is some wear to the gold around the edges of the "pages" but it is stilll a great example of vintage advertising from a gentler era.
