Books are the kind that have a first page for the store to keep and a second page as a customer receipt
Each first page is carboned on the back (no separate carbon paper sheet) so that the writing goes through to the second page.  The backing of the book folds around to insert between the ones you are writing on and the ones you don't want the writing to go through.
Not dated but I'm guessing from the 1940s-1950s, maybe even a little earlier.  These are from a time when little "mom-and-pop" grocery stores would allow people to charge their groceries and make payments on them.  There is also a space on the form where credit was given for people bringing eggs in to trade for groceries.    The back of the customer receipt page tells people "no matter what bills they have, to pay their grocer first".
Books are new old stock, have never been used and are in excellent condition.
