These are VERY RARE original
Master COMBAT Parachutist Wings of the United States Army
hallmarked
J. Balme FRANCE.
These are exceptionally scarce wings and have one combat jump star from most likely the combat jump on Grenada in 1983 or into Panama in 1989. Other combat jumps may also qualify such as the combat jump into Iraq by the 173rd Airborne Brigade in 2003. The combat jump star was made in the wings at the time of manufacture. It was not added later. These are the no shine - stay brite style wings.
These very rare Balme wings were made back in the late 1980's and into the early 1990's. They are no longer made and unavailable in most cases. Balme made some absolutely exquisite military badges, wings and insignia to include US Army Parachute Jump Wings, Combat and Expert Infantryman Badges, Air Assault Wings and USAF Flight Wings. The detail in these wings is extraordinary and these are much prized.
The combat jump is recognized by a single bronze star affixed to the parachute badge. This badge has a single bronze star that indicates one parachute jump into a hostile fire drop zone. The combat star is actually made into the wings and not added by someone later.
These wings are similar those illustrated in the Bragg and Turner book,

as B&T 43, except this example is the RARE Balme made type.   These are getting very scarce now days, so if you are trying to collect the various makers of US Wings, this is your opportunity to pick up an uncommon hallmark. With the recent huge increase in U.S. postal rates and requirement for delivery confirmation tracking, we have had to increase the shipping costs for both domestic and overseas mailings.
