This Japanese Imari charger is made with applied gilt decoration,The center motif is called hana kago (flower basket) even if in this case is a pot,This can be considered a "flower basket" with the upside down U-shaped handle,And the small pattern is called Karakusa and the trees looks like cherry trees.Maybe a spring plate. It was crafted in the middle to the late Meiji Period. Provenance: This piece comes from the Estate of Dr. Roberto Gonzalo Phd. in Anthropology. Measurements: The charger measures approx. 12" (30.5cm) in Diameter x approx. 2" (5cm) Tall.
