    Description

Early Vietnam Army Commendation Medal Awarded To Air Force Staff Sergeant 1966. Up for sale i have an early style Army Commendation Medal! This one interesting was awarded to and is engraved to Floyd L Bayes. Interestingly it is an early cross service award. This medal was awarded to Staff Sergeant Floyd L Bayes AF15646493, United States Air Force, for joint service in vietnam from December 1965 to July 1966. His award can be founs in the General Orders No 12 from Department of the Army HQ on March 17th 1967. Attached is a copy of this edition! The medal itself is the early converted slot brooch pattern. It exhibits some use and wear but overall is a very nice original example! Engraving is goverment offical. His high rank of senior NCO as a Staff Sergeant would seem to indictate he was a career soldier! Possibly seeing service in both ww2, korea and vietnam! I could not find his grave but i asssume he was a 2 at the least but more likely 3 war veteran! This one is going to make a great research project!
