Refers to Mao’s letter of 7 May 1966 to Lin Biao, regarding the
People's Liberation Army (PLA) report on ‘Further Developments of Agricultural and Sideline Production in the Armed Forces’. In the letter, Mao suggested that workers, peasants, students and others should participate in other working environments and learning experiences from their own. It began, “The People’s Liberation Army should be one big school, for the study of politics, military matters, culture, also agricultural subsidiary production.”
