19th C. Japanese Cloisonne Enamel on Bronze 11.75" Dragon Charger, Meiji Period

This listing is for a gorgeous 19th Century Japanese Cloisonne on bronze charger with elaborate decoration featuring a dragon design in the center. The charger is decorated with a large center medallion with 3-toed dragon chasing a flaming pearl on a black background encased in a narrow band using similar colors. The outer border is decorated with colorful assorted designs on a black background with a floral design around the outside rim. Included within the design are some areas decorated with iridescent bronze mica. The exterior is decorated with pale turquoise enamel.
Measures 1 1/4" high and 11 3/4" in diameter. Weighs 1.10 pounds.
This front of this nice charger is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws. The colors are rich and vibrant. The enamel on the exterior is discolored in some areas especially around the outside edge but we found no actual damage. The bronze rim is discolored from age and normal wear.
